Change your Mindset, Change your Life

Following our previous post about Tosin’s Time To Break Free book, we are bringing you a little sneak peek into the first chapter of this book – Mindset.

“Mind is the master power that moulds and makes, and man is mind, and evermore he takes the tool of thought, and shaping what he wills…

Brings forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills. He thinks in secret, and it comes to pass. Environment is but his looking glass.”

Why is it important for you to understand how your mind works? There are many geniuses in the world today that cannot teach others what they know.

Have you ever complimented someone on how good they were at doing what they do and they responded by saying, “Thanks, but I haven’t got a clue of how I do what I do? It just seems to come naturally to me.” Or here’s a classic one for sales people, you ask them “that was a great sales call can you tell me how you got the customer to buy”, and their response is usually, “You know mate, I was in the zone and can’t even remember what I said. You know what, I’ll have to record myself in action and see what it is exactly that I’m doing right.”

Just imagine for a minute that you were able to establish all the behavioral patterns that you run and more importantly, figure out how you run them. In other words, fully understand the order and sequence in which you do things that create results in your life. Now you’ve got a recipe book for your life.

Think about it. If you discover the patterns you run in creating your Phobias and Fears and you know the order and sequence in which you do what you do, then you are in a privileged position to change those patterns and behaviors to run differently.

In other words, you have the ability to think different thoughts from your old ways of thinking and behaving if you knew how your mind works to creating a particular desired outcome.
